A Little Book of Useful Links
By
Dot MacKenzie & Eman Marafi

Links – Introduction - How Can You Use the Internet to Study?
The Internet is an extremely useful means of obtaining information about any subject under the sun. Once you are connected to Netscape Communicator, for example, it is possible to type any word in the search box, and you will usually find a list of sites that provide information about the word or subject you are looking for. There are also many ways that the Internet can be used to learn English, such as:
1. learning the alphabet as you type
2. learning alphabetical ordering
3. learning to read numbers
4. scanning – working out what is useful when you are reading
5. synthesizing information from different sources
6. listening and understanding spoken English
7. writing emails to friends around the world
Moreover, there are many sites that can help you to study grammar, test you on your knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, or teach you reading and writing skills, as well as sites where you can look up meanings of new words, and learn idioms. They are of use to beginning students, and those who are writing PH. D. dissertations.
In addition, if you are studying other subjects, the following list of websites may be of interest. Try them and see what you find. With some of them, you will be given links to other useful sites. There is no limit to the amount of information that you will find, useful and useless, interesting and boring. The only limit is time since most of us do not want to spend all day looking at a computer screen.
Unfortunately, links change so that some of the links here may not work. If you need specific information, type a word related to the information in a search box, and you should find lots of links. The problem then is that you will have to open each site to see if it is easy enough for you to understand, and to assess the information for its relevancy.

I wondered whether you might like to put a link to our free maths game website http://www.tutpup.com on your school blog?
Our site is free, has no ads, allows students to play competitive head-to-head games (from around the world), but does not allow direct communications.
There are also tools for teachers to set up, manage their classes and see how students are performing - both at school and at home.
If you have any comments or queries please let me know.

Also a good link for this list is http://www.advisors4free.com. I suggest you place it under “Asking questions”.
You can get a free, reliable answer on your personal question.
On http://www.advisors4free.com everyone can get a free, fast, reliable and independent answer from a professional. This website is based on a question & answer system. People’s personal question will be answered by an expert on that specific topic.
The questions can be about every possible topic. From education, losing weight, sport and application to internet marketing. Advices that experts give in there answers are free available for everyone. The person that has asked the original question will stay anonymous.
By giving free advice, experts have the opportunity to make themselves and there professional research knowable to the website visitors. Just like the person who asked the question, they will be familiar with the expert’s name.
Because questions are divided into different topics, this new website is very handy and easy to survey. With the fast and easy-to-use search machine, visitors are able to check if there question has already been answered.
I hope you’re willing to review this request and conclude it’s worthy for the site. I thank you in advance.
