Hi. My name is Mishari. I live in Kuwait in Surra area. I was born on the 6^th May 1986. Now I have joined Kuwait University in the College of Science. I’m a geologist. I’m interested in playing football, swimming and listening to music, such as house and techno. I have two brothers, Aziz and Saud. I spend all my time in the gym. My dream is to be a good geologist and to join Kuwait Oil Company. That is because there is a lot of money there, there are many discoveries to be made and the salary is great. Finally, I hope to have a good future in everything in my life.

Hi.  My name’s Ahmed Hamad Johar.  I’m 19 years old and I’m a student in K.U. in the College of Science.  My major is computer science.  I chose this major because I love computer programs and anything about computers, for example the hardware and software.  The other thing I like about computer science is what I will be able to do if I master computer programs and have a lot of information.  First, I will be able to create programs, websites or web pages for people who need them or use them.  I will do a presentation because it is useful for life and will help me in my work.  For example, if I have very important programs for my projects, I will have to do a presentation to show them and make them helpful. This is just some information about me.

My name is Nasser.  I am a Kuwaiti national and I am 24 years old.  I have 3 brothers and 1 sister.  My favorite hobbies are swimming and playing football.  I am studying in K.U. in the statistics and operation research department.  My father is a doctor of mathematics in the College of Science and my mother is retired.  My sister graduated from the College of Engineering from the industrial department, and my brother is studying engineering in my sister’s department.  My two other brothers are studying in high school.  At the weekend, I usually go to the cinema because I like movies, especially comedies.  At the end, this is a short summary of me and my family.  I hope you enjoy it when you read it.

I’m Mohamed and I’m 19 years old.  I like football very much and I’m a football player (goalkeeper) in Al Araby Club.  My favorite national team is Italy.  They have won the World Cup 4 times, in 1932, 1938, 1982 and 2006.  My favorite player is Bufffon because he is the best goalkeeper around the world.  Finally, I live in Kuwait City in Mansouriya, and it’s a beautiful area.

I’m Essa and I’m in my second year in the university.  I am trying to transfer to the C.B.A..  I love Real Madrid Club and Al Araby.  My hobby is playing sports and I love football.  Finally, I was born on 8/5/1989.

1 Introduction

Webquests are a great way to focus your Internet searches. They focus on a topic, and then provide you with tasks and links that help you to complete them. If you type “interior design webquest” in the Google search box, you will find at least 19,000 links to them. The ones in this file are just a sample of some of them. If you like them, complete the tasks and show your teacher a copy of your work.

2 Note about Links

The Internet is a wonderful aid for research and many people spend a lot of time developing worksheets for students. Often they provide links that worked the day they completed them, but websites change and sometimes links do not work at a later date. If the link you want does not work, try typing a key word in a search box, and you will find other links that are just as useful. You can access some of the urls by clicking on the links embedded in the webquest pages.

5 Using with Students

The webquest can be introduced in class, and the students can find answers in their own time. This file works best if it is accessed by the students from computers, rather than reading paper copies, as the links are embedded in the file. The file can be sent as an attachment to the students in each teacher’s section. The students can work on the topics in small groups, and then present their findings at the end of semester with group presentations, using PowerPoint. The file will also be stored in the 162 section of Kuwait University’s Blackboard system. http://bb.kuniv.edu.
