Hands across the Oceans

The students in English 162 in the ELU in the Faculty of Science in Kuwait University are busy preparing presentations for later in the semester.  They were asked to write short introductions to themselves to be posted in the Student Showcase blog.

Ali Mukhtar

I’m Ali Mukhtar and I\m 23 years old.  I’m a student in Kuwait University.  My favorite hobbies are watching t.v. and playing football.

Salem Abdulsalam

My name is Salem.  I’m 18 years old.  My favorite hobbies are playing football and computer games.  I live in my house with 4 brothers, my father and my mother. 

Ali Sadeq

My name is Ali Sadeq Al Mesri.  I’m from Kuwait.  I’m 21 years old and I’m not married.  I have a sports car and it is a Nissan 2350.  My friend is Mohamed and he has a Ford Mustang car.

Ahmed Hamad Johar

Hi.  My name’s Ahmed Hamad Johar.  I’m 19 years old and I’m a student in K.U. in the College of Science.  My major is computer science.  I chose this major because I love computer programs and anything about computers, for example the hardware and software.  The other thing I like about computer science is what I will be able to do if I master computer programs and have a lot of information.  First, I will be able to create programs, websites or web pages for people who need them or use them.  I will do a presentation because it is useful for life and will help me in my work.  For example, if I have very important programs for my projects, I will have to do a presentation to show them and make them helpful. This is just some information about me.

Nasser Masood

My name is Nasser, I am 19 and I live in Kuwait.  I am studying in K.U. and my major is from the C.B.A..  My favorite hobbies are playing football, swimming and  watching movies.  My life’s dream is to be a doctor in the university and this dream needs a lot of work, but what can I do?  I must work hard to get my life’s dream.  I like to spend all my time with my family.  I have 2 brothers and 1 sister.  Finally, I have 10 birds and I like them when they are singing.

Mohammed Musallem

I’m Mohamed.  I live in Jaber Al Ali area.  I’m from Kuwait.  I like sports cars, so I have a Ford Mustang V8 Supercharger.  I am studying in the College of Science.

Nasser Bader

My name is Nasser.  I am a Kuwaiti national and I am 24 years old.  I have 3 brothers and 1 sister.  My favorite hobbies are swimming and playing football.  I am studying in K.U. in the statistics and operation research department.  My father is a doctor of mathematics in the College of Science and my mother is retired.  My sister graduated from the College of Engineering from the industrial department, and my brother is studying engineering in my sister’s department.  My two other brothers are studying in high school.  At the weekend, I usually go to the cinema because I like movies, especially comedies.  At the end, this is a short summary of me and my family.  I hope you enjoy it when you read it.

Abdullah Al Farhan

My name is Abdullah.  I am 19 years old.  I like reading very much.  My favorite hobbies are fishing, hunting, football, volleyball, and shopping.

Abdullah Mohammed

My name is Abdullah.  I’m Kuwaiti.  I was born in Kuwait.  I am 19 years old.  I’m studying in Kuwait University.  This is my second year.  My college is science.  My major is mathematics.  I like my major.  Finally, my favorite hobbies are playing football, watching movies, surfing the Internet, and playing cards.

Abdullah Abdulaziz

My name is Abdullah from Kuwait.  I’m 18 years old and I’m studying in K.U..  I like food and animals very much.  I like playing sports and volleyball in Kuwait.  I  play a lot of matches and it’s very interesting.  We are six persons in my family:  2 brothers, 1 sister, my father, and my mother.  I’m friendly and I like going shopping because it’s very interesting.  Finally, the bad thing in my life is I’m very nervous.

Fahad Hamed

My name is Fahad, I’m 19 years old and I’m in Kuwait University.  This is my second year in college.  I have many hobbies, like playing football or basketball.  I love looking for news on the Internet, e.g. something about local news, sports news and the weather.  I like to travel in summer, especially to Europe.  Finally, the country I would like to visit is Australia.

Mohamed Abdul Khader

Hi.  I’m Mohamed, I’m 20 years old, study in K.U. in the College of Science, and I’m the P.R. and marketing manager in 4-not Group.  It’s a small company interested in art and hand-made work.  I don’t have much free time, but when I have some, I like playing some sports, like running and swimming.   Finally, in summer I like to stay in Kuwait because I like sea sports, so I go to the sea a lot.

Mohamed Hameed

I’m Mohamed and I’m 19 years old.  I like football very much and I’m a football player (goalkeeper) in Al Araby Club.  My favorite national team is Italy.  They have won the World Cup 4 times, in 1932, 1938, 1982 and 2006.  My favorite player is Bufffon because he is the best goalkeeper around the world.  Finally, I live in Kuwait City in Mansouriya, and it’s a beautiful area.

Essa Abdullah

I’m Essa and I’m in my second year in the university.  I am trying to transfer to the C.B.A..  I love Real Madrid Club and Al Araby.  My hobby is playing sports and I love football.  Finally, I was born on 8/5/1989.

Hussein Najim

My name is Hussein.  I’m 19 and I’m studying in the College of Science.  My major is mathematics.  I like playing football and watching films.  I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters.  I like reading about other cultures and other countries.   I hope to travel around the world.  Finally, I hope to learn more about presentations and outlining in this course.

Hamad Dawood

My name is Hamad.  I’m 19 years old.  I was born in Kuwait.  I have many hobbies, such as swimming, football, volleyball and body-building.  I’m in the College of Science.  I want to study business.  I like travelling.  I have travelled to some places and I hope to travel to others.  Finally, sometime I’d like to be fit, so I hope to join a health club.

Nasser Bader

My name is Nasser Bader.  I am Kuwaiti, 20 years old and I live in Surra.  I am studying mathematics in K.U..  I love reading short stories and my favorite hobby is writing poetry which I hope to translate into English.  I love my country very much.  Finally, I am very funny and I love joking.

Abdulaziz Jassim

My name is Abdulaziz Jassem.  I’m 19 and I like playing basketball, billiards, and going to the gym.  I go to the gym every day, but I take time off at the weekend, when I play basketball or go to shopping malls. However,  I  prefer to go to play basketball.  I have  a twin brother and his name is Abdulwahab.  He is my best friend and he is always near me. Wherever I go, he goes with me. He and I are similar in many ways.  In particular, we have similar faces and bodies.

Abdullah Al Ajmi

My name is Abdullah and I am 19.  I have 2 brothers and no sisters.  I got good grades in high school, so I joined the university.  This is my third semester.  I have English 162 with Ms. Dot.  I hope to join  the Engineering College to be like my father.  Finally, I should get high grades in my college to have a good job.

Khaled Mohamed

My name is Khalid and I am 19.  It’s my second year in college.  I like football, volleyball, video games, movies reading and swimming.  Finally, every summer we travel to European countries.
